The printed cover dates the Diamond Jubilee from June 25 through July 1, 1939. The anniversary marked seventy-five years since borough incorporation without turning every claim in the commemorative booklet into settled history.

History on a Public Stage

The program’s Cavalcade of the Coalers used a prologue, four episodes, and an epilogue to dramatize a local past. It is presented here as evidence of how the Jubilee interpreted history, not as primary proof for the scenes it staged.

A Community-Built Celebration

Civic committees, schools, veterans, fire companies, musicians, churches, industries, and local businesses all appear in the surviving program. This story describes that shared structure without mass-publishing lists of participants.
