A Crowded Burlesque Performance at the Fraternity Theatre

Reported in November 1903

A separate Shamokin venue reported a completed program in 1903.

Some details remain uncertain

The Fraternity Theatre appeared separately from the G.A.R. Opera House in The Billboard’s November 1903 Shamokin report. Its entry named W. D. Nields as manager and recorded a completed burlesque performance.

The correspondent described a crowded, pleased audience and approved of the company. These were qualitative impressions; no attendance count, receipts or cast list accompanied them.

The day number 30 is printed without an explicit month. The completed engagement establishes activity at the Fraternity Theatre before the November 14 issue. It does not establish a later change of name to the Family Theatre or a shared building with the G.A.R.
