Created in November 2009 by Shawn McGugan, Mike Zielinskie, and Dave Zielinskie, this mural marks an entrance to the coal region.

An Entrance to the Coal Region

It draws on the ruins of Glen Burn Colliery and the culm bank landscape.

Reading the Mural

The mural was designed to mark an entrance into the Coal Region. Nearby industrial ruins and the former culm-bank landscape give the painted history a physical setting.
