Dedicated in 1989, the Price of Freedom Veterans Memorial honors more than 500 men and women from the Shamokin and Coal Township area who died while serving their country.
More Than Five Hundred Local Names
The memorial recognizes local recipients of major military honors and pays tribute to Robert J. Marcavage, listed on the marker as the first Shamokin resident killed in action in Vietnam.
