Victoria Theatre Leaves the National Register

After the Victoria Theatre was demolished, the National Park Service recorded its removal from the National Register on May 18, 2004.

A Downtown Landmark Is Lost

The Victoria Theatre had opened in January 1918 and remained part of Shamokin’s cultural landscape for generations.

Demolition Ends the Building’s Story

By 2004 the theatre had been demolished, leaving photographs and records to preserve its appearance and public role.
