West End Planing Mill

West End Planing Mill advertised doors, sash, blinds and shutters alongside brackets, verandas and mouldings in the 1895–97 directory. It also offered lumber of all kinds. The advertisement placed the mill at Spruce and Fifth Streets and named Aucker, Slayman & Co. as proprietors.

R. S. Aucker, C. J. Slayman and J. W. Kessler appeared across the top of the panel. Below them, a horse-drawn lumber wagon accompanied the list of products. The combination of lumber and finished building components made the advertisement a compact catalog of the mill's offerings.
