Shamokin Roller Flour Mill

Robertson & Osler advertised blended flour, grain, feed and hay at the Shamokin Roller Flour Mill.

Robertson & Osler's Shamokin Roller Flour Mill advertised a trade in flour, feed, hay and grain at Independence and Orange Streets. The 1895–97 notice offered wholesale and retail sales and identified the firm as a manufacturer of its own blended flour. Calling that flour “celebrated” was part of the advertisement's appeal.

The mill singled out collieries as customers for feed and hay, supplied by the load or car. Orders could be sent by mail or wire, and a telephone connection was advertised. The notice also offered cash for grain. Together, these details describe a business seeking both buyers for its products and sellers of the grain it handled.
