Shamokin Marble and Granite Works

Peter Barr's Shamokin Marble and Granite Works advertised at the corner of Independence and Market Streets in the 1895–97 directory. Its list ranged from monuments and headstones to fencing, coping, flagging, curbing and window sills.

The notice offered estimates on application and promised satisfaction. Memorial work stood beside stonework for buildings and grounds, rather than appearing as the works' only advertised trade. Barr's name and the street-corner address gave readers a contact for that range of products.
